In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1

Darren Aronofsky’s film starts with fire, a house, the day and the wake up of a nameless woman that we could call her “The Mother”. The man in the house is “Him” or “The Poet”.

With an unfinished book, The Poet works constantly to present to the universe his opera prima, a Testament. The Mother keeps nurturing him and taking care of an octagonal house. He finishes The Book.

Later a fan comes to the house, The Man, an alegoric Adam. He is sick and his wife, an alegoric Eve, comes to the house. She cause chaos and bring The Poet’s anger. They are committing sins all over the house. Suddenly, the humanity starts to destroying the house, the world, the nature. The Mother cannot stop the madness and fire is the only answer. Global warming. The Poet, God, starts all over from the ashes and a new Mother Nature wakes up.

The end of the film predicts the end of the world by fire and this might be true with all the data about climate change.
